MADISON – State budget protesters attacked the headquarters of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce over the weekend with pro-tax-hike graffiti on the sidewalk, and stenciled images of fists and Governor Scott Walker smeared on the building and statue.
“These acts were perpetrated by people who want to continue the same policies that created the state’s chronic budget deficits over the last decade, including the current $3.6 billion hole,” said Kurt R. Bauer, WMC President/CEO. “Calls for taxing the rich ignore the fact that the state raised taxes by $3 billion during the last budget cycle, which has delayed the economic recovery Wisconsin families so desperately need.”
Madisonpolice are investigating the attack on the WMC headquarters.
