Madison – The Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives association (WCCE), a division of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), elected a new slate of officers for 2013. Scott Larson, executive director of the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry, has been elected to serve as president.
Scott has twenty years of economic development and management experience. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management with a Marketing emphasis from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and is also a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional through the National Development Council. As Executive Director of the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Marshfield Area Chamber Foundation, Scott is responsible for leading the activities of both non-profit corporations to include the development and implementation of commercial and industrial growth strategies through the retention, expansion and addition of business enterprises.
“In today’s challenging times, businesses are looking for leadership at the federal, state, and local levels, and they are looking to organizations that can, collectively, be their voice. Now, more than ever, the need for strong communities led by strong leaders is a necessity. During my term as WCCE President, it is my goal to continue the efforts made to make WCCE the association of choice for chamber professionals seeking personal and professional development,” said Larson.
Larson currently holds leadership positions with the following organizations: Board of Directors of Centergy – Treasurer; Board of Trustees Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation – Secretary; and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce – Board of Directors. He also serves the Marshfield Area Community Foundation, Marshfield Main Street and Marshfield Noon Rotary Club, and several other local boards and commissions.
WCCE’s new officers include Karen Szyman, executive director of The Chamber of Manitowoc County, elected to serve as president-elect; Philip Fritsche, executive director of the Beaver Dam Area Chamber of Commerce, to serve as vice president; Jim Morgan, vice president of WMC, who will again serve as WCCE secretary/treasurer; and Van Nutt, executive director of the Middleton Chamber of Commerce, as WCCE’s immediate past president.
Chamber executives elected to the board include Pam Christopher, executive director of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce; Craig Farrell, executive director of the West Bend Area Chamber of Commerce; Brett Frazier, executive director of the Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce; Shannon Full, president & CEO of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Robert Moses, executive director of the Prairie du Chien Area Chamber of Commerce; Kevin Ruetten, executive director of the Hayward Area Chamber of Commerce; Becky Seelen, program director for the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce; and Jeff Zriny, president & CEO for the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce. Kurt R. Bauer, president/CEO of WMC, serves as an ex-officio member of the WCCE board.
