WMC President & CEO Kurt R. Bauer joined Meg Ellefson on WSAU to discuss how rising inflation has impacted Wisconsin’s economy.
“We’re officially in a bear market and this week we learned that the producer price index which measures what businesses pay to produce a product is nearly 11%,” Bauer said. “It’s inflation across the board. Everything costs more. With the stock market not doing well people feel a little poorer and then it costs more to borrow money.”
“If you don’t have a thriving economy and businesses growing and expanding with the ability to hire, then it all will have a pretty dire economic impact on Wisconsin,” Bauer added.
