WMC Raises Concerns About DNR Rulemaking for Structures for Navigable Waterways

WMC submitted comments to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) raising concerns about proposed rulemaking that could impact exemptions for structures on waterways. In the scope statement (SS 048-22), the DNR notes that it intends to impose “reasonable” restrictions on the construction of piers, wharves, and culverts. In response, WMC notes that such exemptions are clearly prescribed by statute.
