Nine Companies Win Business Friend of the Environment Award

Sustainability, Innovation and Stewardship Honored

MADISON – For the 30th year in a row, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) has recognized companies with the Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment Award. This year, companies were chosen for programs that demonstrate an innovative approach to environmental protection and going above and beyond what is required by regulatory compliance.

On Tuesday, August 13 at WMC’s Policy Day, nine companies were recognized for winning a Business Friend of the Environment Award. These success stories reflect the continued commitment of Wisconsin’s business community to environmental protection.

“The business community in Wisconsin is a leader when it comes to environmental sustainability, innovation and stewardship,” said WMC Director of Environmental & Energy Policy Lane Ruhland. “The Business Friend of the Environment Awards show that protecting environment and growing a business are not mutually exclusive.”

This year’s award winners represent companies in each category size, ranging from small to large, which have made significant improvements in the areas of sustainability, environmental stewardship and environmental innovation. Each of the winners demonstrate that sound environmental practices are not only good for Wisconsin’s environment and its economy, but they also serve as important examples for industry.

“Congratulations to all of this year’s winners,” added Ruhland. “WMC is proud to recognize each company for their commitment to sustainability efforts and the future of our state.”
