WMC Lauds A.G. Brad Schimel for Protecting Wisconsin Jobs

MADISON – Kurt Bauer, President/CEO for Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, the state chamber of commerce, issued the following statement in response to Attorney General Brad Schimel’s decision to challenge the EPA’s recent global warming rule for coal fired power plants:
“We commend Attorney General Schimel for his decision to defend middle class manufacturing jobs in Wisconsin. The EPA global warming rule is contrary to the law, and will have a devastating impact on energy prices and our economy as a whole. By driving up the price of electricity, the EPA rule will hit Wisconsin families with higher costs, and thousands of middle class factory workers will lose their jobs. The business community thanks Attorney General Schimel for his willingness to protect the livelihoods of Wisconsin workers, and defend the legal rights of our citizens.”
