WMC Lauds Bi-partisan Assembly Action To Repeal Nuclear Moratorium

Today’s floor action comes after bill was unanimously voted out of committee
MADISON – Today, the Wisconsin State Assembly passed AB 384, repealing Wisconsin’s Nuclear Power moratorium that was put in place in the early 1980s. In response, WMC’s Director of Environmental and Energy Policy, Lucas Vebber, released the following statement:
“Today’s vote sends a strong message that Wisconsin is committed to ensuring reliable and affordable power is available for families and businesses. Advanced nuclear energy absolutely needs to be part of the conversation when it comes to the future of our state’s energy supply. Today’s strong bi-partisan vote takes us one step closer to making sure that it will.”
The bill now moves to the State Senate where companion legislation has already received a public hearing.
