State Chamber Seeking Environment Award Applications

Business Friend of the Environment Award nominations accepted through March 28

Madison – Wisconsin’s chamber of commerce, WMC, is now accepting nominations for the 25th Annual Business Friend of the Environment Awards until March 28th. The awards honor companies that have made significant improvements or conducted unique projects in the areas of sustainability, environmental innovation and environmental stewardship.
The awards will be presented by Wisconsin DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp at the annual WMC Environmental Policy and Awards Conference Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Country Springs Conference Center in Pewaukee. These awards will be publicized statewide and locally. If you feel your company, or a company you may have worked with, strove for environmental excellence in 2013, recognize it by submitting a BFOE 2014 nomination form.
Self-nominations are encouraged and detailed nomination applications are greatly appreciated. Winners will be selected by an independent panel of judges representing industry, the Department of Natural Resources, the University of Wisconsin and environmental groups.
For further information and for a nomination form visit www.wmc.org or call 608.258.3400.
