WMC Director of Environmental & Energy Policy Craig Summerfield, submitted comments raising serious concerns with DNR’s plans to revise wetland regulations in the state. The proposed rule (NR 300) is broadly written to limit eligibility for wetland exemptions, expands DNR authority to require additional information from permit applicants, and more than doubles the fee (from $800 to $1,700) for individual wetland permits. The draft rule would also require businesses to use the DNR’s electronic portal for permitting applications.
