WMC submitted comments to the DNR urging the agency to make pro-business changes to NR 439, a rule that imposes burdensome record-keeping regulations on businesses’ air emissions. The DNR has indicated it plans to rewrite NR 439, which is long overdue. In our comments, WMC called on the DNR to carefully review the existing reporting requirements for air emissions, including the “Next Day Deviation Guidance,” and eliminate or consolidate any reporting requirements that are not necessary to meet federal EPA standards, as required by Wisconsin law.
