Nine Companies Win Business Friend of Environment

Sustainability, Innovation and Stewardship Honored

PEWAUKEE – As Wisconsin’s economy continues to improve, nine companies have received the prestigious Business Friend of the Environment Award for leadership in sustainability, environmental innovation and environmental stewardship, WMC announced Wednesday.

“The winners of WMC’s Business Friend of the Environment Award put Wisconsin at the forefront of technological innovation and serve as models of responsible environmental stewardship and sustainability,” said Kurt R. Bauer, WMC President/CEO. “These leaders demonstrate the deep commitments Wisconsin businesses hold toward our communities and environment.”

The 2014 Business Friend of the Environment Awards are presented by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), the state’s chamber of commerce and largest business association.

An independent panel of judges representing industry, environmental groups, the Department of Natural Resources, and the University of Wisconsin select the Business Friend of the Environment winners. Awards were presented at a luncheon at the Country Springs Conference Center in Pewaukee.

WMC is the state’s largest business association, representing the interests of nearly 3,800 member companies from across the state that employ approximately one-quarter of Wisconsin’s private sector workforce.
