WMC: Justice Roggensack Delivers Rule-of-Law Opinions on Business Cases

MADISON – In the wake of a new study released yesterday reviewing recent business related Wisconsin Supreme Court rulings, WMC said Justice Patience Roggensack has an “extraordinary record” on cases of interest to employers.
“Over the years, Justice Roggensack has demonstrated a philosophy of judicial restraint and has properly applied the law rather than pushing a political agenda from the bench,” said Scott Manley, vice president of government relations for WMC, the state chamber of commerce.
The 2013 Guide to the Wisconsin Supreme Court and Judicial Evaluation from the Wisconsin Civil Justice Council analyzed the most important business decisions that were decided by the Court over the last two terms. Based on the report, Justice Roggensack led the court with a 74 percent rating on cases involving business issues. Over the past four terms, ranging from 2008 to 2012, Justice Roggensack has an 83 percent rating.
