MORE: J.P. Donlon, editor-in-chief of Chief Executive Magazine, will discuss what Wisconsin will have to do to be the No. 1 state for business in luncheon remarks at 11:50 a.m. Under Gov. Walker’s leadership, Wisconsin has leapt from 41st in the nation for business climate in 2010 to 20th in 2012, according to Chief Executive Magazine.
WMC, the state’s chamber of commerce, has set a goal for Wisconsin to be among the Top 10 pro-business states in the nation. WMC represents 3,500 businesses in the state from all sectors, including manufacturing.
WMC supported a series of bold reforms passed in 2011 that cut taxes, curbed lawsuit abuse and contained costly regulations for industry. WMC will push for swift passage of additional pro-growth policies when the Legislature is sworn-in in January.
