MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) – the combined state chamber and manufacturers’ association – announced the launch of its annual Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment Award. For over three decades, WMC has presented this award to companies who have demonstrated environmental leadership and have implemented sustainable, innovative environmental practices.
“It is an honor to recognize Wisconsin companies that not only run successful businesses but champion environmental stewardship,” said WMC Director of Environmental & Energy Policy Craig Summerfield. “We can’t wait to highlight the innovative ways that Wisconsin businesses are growing the state’s economy and preserving the environment for the future of our state.”
Wisconsin companies, both small and large, can be nominated for this award if they have made significant improvements in areas of sustainability, innovative technology and environmental stewardship. The goal of this awards program is to demonstrate to state policymakers, businesses and the public that sound environmental practices are good for Wisconsin and its business environment.
The 2022 Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment award winners will be selected by an independent panel of judges who represent the business community and environmental organizations.
