Media Advisory: Celebrate Manufacturing Month in October

What’s Your Hometown Product?

MADISON – Wisconsin is celebrating manufacturing month in October and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), the state’s Chamber of Commerce and largest business trade association, is encouraging the media to contact local manufacturers to promote what’s made right in your hometown or area.
“Wisconsin has a proud manufacturing heritage and we are encouraging the media to celebrate manufacturing by doing feature stories about the hometown heroes that make the products we ship to the world,” said Kurt R. Bauer, WMC President/CEO.
WHAT:
Call your hometown manufacturers (or local chamber of commerce) to see what they make, and produce a feature story or profile on local products and manufacturers.
WHEN:
October 2012
WHY:
Governor Scott Walker has signed a proclamation declaring October as manufacturing month in Wisconsin. Wisconsin manufacturing adds $50 billion to the state’s gross domestic product and sustains 450,000 good-paying jobs.
