Rachel Ver Velde Promoted to WMC’s Senior Director of Workforce, Education & Employment Policy

MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) – the combined state chamber and manufacturers’ association – announced Tuesday that Rachel Ver Velde was promoted to the organization’s Senior Director of Workforce, Education & Employment Policy. Ver Velde has been an integral member of WMC’s Government Relations team since 2021, adding to her years of state and federal policy experience.

“Rachel is a fantastic asset to WMC members,” said WMC Executive Vice President of Government Relations Scott Manley. “We are excited to have Rachel take on more responsibility as she works to shape policies that make Wisconsin the best state for business.”

Prior to her time at WMC, Rachel served as Chief of Staff for Congressman Glenn Grothman, managing his official office operations in both Washington, D.C. and Wisconsin. She also served as Chief of Staff in Grothman’s Wisconsin State Senate office, helping to usher 33 bills to the governor’s desk for enactment.

“It is a privilege to advocate for employees and students by working with policymakers to improve our business climate,” said Ver Velde. “I’m humbled to expand my duties at WMC, and thrilled to see what we will accomplish on behalf of the Wisconsin business community.”

Rachel graduated with Honors from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics. She currently resides in Sun Prairie with her husband and two children.
