PRESS RELEASE: Waukesha® Metal Products Celebrates National Manufacturing Day
Sussex, WI October 5, 2012– Waukesha® Metal Products, an international metalforming supplier with capabilities including metal stamping, sheet metal fabrication and tool design/build celebrated National Manufacturing Day by hosting open houses for students, educators and others interested in manufacturing career opportunities.
Friday October 5, 2012 was National Manufacturing Day. Waukesha® Metal Products, along with other facilities across the country opened their doors to highlight the importance of manufacturing to the nation’s economy and to draw attention to the many rewarding high-skill jobs available in the manufacturing fields.
With the gap growing each year between the skills students learn in school and those they will need on the job, it is increasingly difficult for manufacturers to find and hire qualified employees. Goals of Manufacturing Day were to educate young people about the growing career opportunities and to remove any negative myths surrounding manufacturing.
Waukesha® Metal Product’s Stamping and Tooling open house in Sussex, WI was attended by students and educators from North Lake Middle School and Sussex Hamilton High School. Secretary of Workforce Development Reggie Newson and Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership’s (WMEP) CEO Buckley Brinkman also showed their support for Manufacturing during the open house at Waukesha® Metal Products.
