WMC’s Senior Director of Workforce, Education & Employment Policy Rachel Ver Velde joined Tracy Johnson on the Steve Scaffidi show to discuss the Governor’s budget and WMC’s policy goals.
Rachel thanked the legislature for protecting the Manufacturing and Agriculture Tax Credit (MAC) from Governor Evers’ proposal to limit the credit. “Manufacturing is the backbone of our state’s economy,” Rachel shared. “We need to keep it [the MAC] in place.”
While tax reform remains the legislature’s primary objective with this budget, they have also prioritized expanding school choice programs and workforce development.
