Craig Summerfield Joins WMC as Director of Environmental & Energy Policy

MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) – the combined state chamber, manufacturers’ association and safety council –announced Monday that Craig Summerfield would be the organization’s new Director of Environmental & Energy Policy. Summerfield has almost 15 years of experience in the Wisconsin State Legislature, including serving as a policy advisor and chief of staff.

“Craig will be a terrific addition to the WMC team,” said WMC Executive Vice President of Government Relations Scott Manley. “His experience and knowledge will make him an excellent advocate for our members.”

Summerfield most recently served as chief of staff for Sen. Devin LeMahieu – the incoming Senate Majority Leader. Prior to working in Sen. LeMahieu’s office, he held various roles over the last decade and a half in the State Legislature, including time as a policy advisor to Assembly Speaker Robin Vos.

“I am excited to join such a talented team at WMC,” added Summerfield. “As the new legislative session begins, I look forward to working on behalf of our members to make Wisconsin the best state in the nation to do business.”

Summerfield earned both his Bachelor’s degree in political science and history, and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His first day was Monday.
