MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) – the combined state chamber manufacturers’ association and safety council –announced Friday that Rachel Ver Velde would be the organization’s new Director of Workforce, Education & Employment Policy. Ver Velde has over a decade of experience crafting policy in state and federal government.
“Rachel will be a strong addition to the WMC team,” said WMC Executive Vice President of Government Relations Scott Manley. “Her knowledge and experience in both Madison and Washington will help Rachel effectively advocate on behalf of our members.”
Ver Velde most recently served as chief of staff for Congressman Glenn Grothman (WI-06). Prior to serving as Rep. Grothman’s chief of staff, she was also his chief of staff in the state senate. Ver Velde has years of experience serving as a policy advisor at the state and national levels.
“I am excited to work alongside some of the most influential policy advocates in Wisconsin,” added Ver Velde. “I look forward to working on behalf of our members to make Wisconsin the best state in the nation to do business.”
Ver Velde earned her bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Her first day was on Monday.
